IT'S 2012

Welp. I have not used this since I was a freshman in college. Now I'm a junior. I had made the switch to tumblr, until I realized that all tumblr was, was reblogging someone else's photos who you thought were "artsy" and "cool."

I actually would enjoy a place to write. So I'm going to start this blog thing back up again.

It's actually quite comical reading some of my old posts. And it's quite amazing to see how far I've come since my freshman year. I've grown up a lot. I've really become my own person. And that's kind of cool.

quoteoftheDAY

"Who has never killed an hour? Not casually or without thought, but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combination of giving up, not caring, and a resignation that getting past it is all you can hope to accomplish. So you kill the hour. You do not work, you do not read, you do not daydream. If you sleep it is not because you need to sleep. And when at last it is over, there is no evidence: no weapon, no blood, and no body. The only clue might be the shadows beneath your eyes or a terribly thin line near the corner of your mouth indicating something has been
suffered, that in the privacy of
your life you have lost
something and the loss is too
empty to share."

black&whiteRAINBOW

Remember that black and white photo I found of the staircase? Well, that is where I found this amazing photo. A picture of a black and white rainbow. So ironic. So beautiful. A rainbow is supposed to be full of color: red orange yellow green blue purple etc. When I first glanced at this photo, I didn't notice the rainbow, because usually a rainbow stands out. And then I went to this website again and I stopped and looked at this photo for more than a minute, and then I realized that that streak on the right is actually a rainbow; a black and white rainbow. Pure genius. A rainbow is a sign of peace, happiness, and a spiritual connection to God. But what does a black and white rainbow signify? The opposite of what a rainbow of color signifies? Its a question that I'm not sure how to answer. It is a very ironic thing. But it amazes me and gets the wheels in my brain to turn. I would love to ask the photographer what his/her reasoning was for taking the picture in black and white. Maybe they wanted to create an ironic situation? But it also leads me to the question: if the world were in black and white, would a rainbow still signify peace, happiness, and a spiritual connection to God? Yes. No. Maybe So.

what's the point in lying? it's a question that i can answer and finally agree with that answer. there is no point in lying. for so many years i don't think i ever told the truth to my parents. and it was just my parents. i wouldn't lie to my friends, because my friends were family to me, and my parents were nothing. it's kind of sad. i just wish my parents understood why i had to lie to them for so many years. the truth honestly would have had much more consequences then the lie...or at least i had thought. lying is never good. so don't do it. yeah, you may get in trouble for telling the truth, but as they teach you in like 3rd grade (which i obviously did not listen to ha) "honesty is the best policy."

staircasetoWHERE?

StumpleUpon is my latest obsession, and while on there I came across a website titled "50 beautiful black and white photographs." The picture to the left is one of them, and it got me thinking. Life is sort of like living in a house you've never been in before. You see a staircase and decided to go up it, except you have no idea where those stairs are going to lead. You never know where life is going to take you. Every thing you do leads to another. And you never know what that "another" is. Just another reason on why I think life is a weird thing. Interesting, unusual, and weird thing.

And there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, the 12. It used to be just us six girls and them six boys. We became good friends and realized that six of us and six of them made 12. And so, the 12 was born. I love the 12 to death. When I'm with them all I can do is smile. :) <--- like that baha.

itsbeenAWHILE

So, I know it's been awhile since I've last written anything I have just been SUPER busy!! About 3 weeks ago I got back to school. I couldn't believe how much I have actually missed this place. Even though I spent about 6 weeks home, I really think that Scranton is my actual home, or at least my newfound home. I don't think I could ever get sick of the campus. Whenever I'm walking down the commons, it feels like the first day of classes (which is a great feeling). OH MY LORD I MUST TELL YOU! Ha! Sooooooo since Erin is not here this semester, because she is at bootcamp, I do not have a roommate. BUT on the Sunday I got back to school I had a roommate scare: I found out that I was getting a roommate named Guy. What, a girl named guy!? I was freaking out, going from being angry to crying to be angry again to crying again! I was a mess! As Sunday went on, Guy never showed up. So weird right? Well Guy did come to Scranton, except Guy is actually a Guy AND I KNOW GUY! Yup, I know him! We went to middle school together. So fucking weird, oh and hes in my theology class. Yeahh....awkward.

THE UNIVERSITY OF SCRANTON

Overall, second semester has been going awesome. I have so much more work than I did last semester, but I'm keeping up with it and so far I have gotten really good grades. I hope that the semester continues to go really well. I hope to keep up with my grades, get closer with my friends, and maybe find a boy. :)
